Joshua Davis is a New York based artist, designer, and technologist producing both public and private work for companies, collectors, and institutions.

Since 1995, Joshua Davis has been using technology and computers as a medium to create projects that a recent Apple Pro Profile touted as infinitely interesting.
A key advantage to working with Joshua Davis Studios is our small boutique team. We are devoted to working with our clients and their needs, and translating those needs into a dynamic experience.

Research and development is at the heart of our process. We create experiences for web, print, broadcast and installation using hand-
drawn assets in conjunction with computational design to create an infinite amount of compositions, each as unique as your fingerprint. At the studio, our friends, partners and adventurers work with us to advance this medium, not replicate it.

After a great initial response with “random assistant” at the Rovereto Festival in Rovereto Italy, we brought this installation to our friends and peers in the design community to the OFFF Festival in Lisbon, Portugal.

2500 OFFF festival attendees worked on 4 one-by-three meter black and white prints over the course of three days. One panel was reserved for Joshua Davis, which he worked on for 8 to 10 hours each day, all 3 days along side the general public.

Each year in gorgeous Rovereto, Italy, outside Milan, the Rovereto Festival features international avante garde music, art and technology. Joshua Davis was commissioned to develop an interactive piece for this year’s event. Here was our take on “interactive”: we printed eight one-by-three meter panels of Joshua Davis’ black and white line art and asked the random passers-by at the festival to assist in coloring the large panels.

We we’re invited once again by the lovely folks at the OFFF Festival to work on a new installation for the 2007 festival at the CCCB, in Barcelona, Spain. Using our newly formed partnership with HP and their wide-format printing group located in Barcelona, we generated artwork for 9 panels to be installed in light-boxes down a black 100 foot curved ceiling hallway.

We enjoyed the public’s reaction to a high-tech process… installed in a low-tech presentation.
