Joshua Davis is a New York based artist, designer, and technologist producing both public and private work for companies, collectors, and institutions.

Since 1995, Joshua Davis has been using technology and computers as a medium to create projects that a recent Apple Pro Profile touted as infinitely interesting.
A key advantage to working with Joshua Davis Studios is our small boutique team. We are devoted to working with our clients and their needs, and translating those needs into a dynamic experience.

Research and development is at the heart of our process. We create experiences for web, print, broadcast and installation using hand-
drawn assets in conjunction with computational design to create an infinite amount of compositions, each as unique as your fingerprint. At the studio, our friends, partners and adventurers work with us to advance this medium, not replicate it.

Please contact Erik Attkisson in our Chicago office for new business inquiries.
Joshua Davis gives lectures, teaches workshops, exhibits work in gallery and museum institutions, and participates in the international design scene several times a year, often monthly. This calendar of events
documents "confirmed" upcoming events. These events will often include a clickable link for more information about the event and how to attend. A list of "all" events from past years is also available, documenting past
shows, festivals, workshops, etc. To book an upcoming event please e-mail the "studio / new york" address. Note, that "unconfirmed" events can potentially be booked anywhere from six to nine months in advance.

”Becoming TOOL”

Back in November 2003, I received an e-mail from TOOL guitarist Adam Jones… starting a discussion about our studio taking over the TOOL websites and experimenting with a new online space for the TOOL websites.

After several phone conversations over the past year and a trip out to California to meet the band, and hear the new material for the new album… Our studio started the ground work for “becoming TOOL” probably the most ambitious project our studio has ever built.

My lecture will be the presentation of the process of “becoming TOOL” — band discussions, band audio experiments, initial sketches, inspirations, influences, drawings, photos, beta experiments, websites builds, etc. The first few builds of the site should be online by the time we come out for Flash in the Can.
