The theme will focus on two current lodestar topics in graphic design: Locality and Craft. Being Here - Locality and Craft in Graphic Design will explore what it means to be local ø notionally as well as geographically. In todayÕs global economy and the resulting post-national state of mind, what is the value of local identity, a sense of place, belonging to a locality? And in what ways is a discipline-traversing design profession redefining craft for the twenty-first century?
