Design music was suppose to be a collection of pages by designers creating work inspired by the music they listen to. However the book never saw the light of day. Here are the 2 pages I created — by feeding music by shapeshifter into a few of my programs and visualizing the results.

I don’t find the words to explain to people when I talk about your art…it’s just the best to me in the entire world.

I really think this work is fantastic and can not understand why the book was dropped? What was the reason for this? Are there any plans to revisit this project?

wow, i really admire your work, the stuff made by you, yugop, dextro and other guys really inspire me, about this stuff, i was just wondering how do you feed this into flash (i suppose you use flash for creating the machine), do you use other software to analize the audio and export data and then import it to flash, or directly, … and another question i have asked myself, is how do you get to print this artwork (or export it at a high resolution) , considering it’s created in flash ? … well, i really don’t think you’re gonna answer…. so , your machines are great. … saludos de tijuana.

For years I’ve been trying to find a “formula”, progam or quantitative way to create a visual representation of what “music looks like.” Patterns and colors would emerge so that each song would have it’s own visual counterpart. Problem is I’m technologically illiterate. Any programs that you know of out there that can do this? Your work is beyond inspiring. You have truly broken the old molds of what is art. Thank you for your vision!
