About 1 hour north of Barcelona, Spain is Costa Brava which is our favorite place on earth to holiday. Some of our favorite hang-outs are Tossa de Mar (for lunch and a hike), Sa Tuna (where we sleep), Hotel Aigua Blava (for lunch), Pals (for pottery shopping), Palafrugell, Cadaques (for the scary as hell drive on the side of a cliff with no guard rails)… just to name a few.
So while Barcelona might be a great resource for design and pattern… Costa Brava is about color, texture, and nature.

Hi mom.

Lunch at Hotel Aigua Blava

ok… there’s always pattern making to be found. Yet in rustic places like Costa Brava age and weather take hold and patterns are discolored and more organic.

I take shots like these previous photos for color - especially this chipped blue. The weathering can give me discoloration and “natural” staining to produce a color palette influenced by nature.
