» Maxalot Exhibition , December 9th, 2005

My first solo show was at the Maxalot Gallery in Barcelona, Spain - December 9th 2005 to February 14th 2006. I showed 10 works from my once-upon-a-forest series (013, 015, 016, 017, 018, 019, 020, 021, 022, and 000-OUAF-unknown a previously unreleased piece of work) which were printed in editions of 25.

my “016 Maxalot” wallpaper which spans 2 walls, is part of the galleries permanent installation.

This was the first time I have shown my hand-drawn works using permanent markers on tinted plastic film.

The film has a nice semi-gloss sheen while the markers (uni POSCA) contrast with a matte finish.

I showed 2 looping DVD videos, and this WACOM interactive piece, “SWARM”

These 2 girls were the best - they spent a good hour putting artwork into the system. Their playfulness was a great treat to watch.

a good few hundred showed up for the show that night… and after checking out the work inside the gallery, most partied outside. Outside of the gallery is where I spent most of the night doing “live” drawings on vinyl adhesive we used to partially cover the windows.

you don’t have to download it at all - if you’re on a PC it’s part of the OS - just run through the add printer steps and it will wake up the driver for use.

I posted the steps here :

Any chance you will be teaching and sharing your generative components anytime soon?

of course. you could create a timer and while that timer is running push the action to an array. But, that’s a whole other spin - one that Yugo has been doing for years and I’ll leave that type of interaction to him.

Great. This is very addictive. Isn’t there a way to record the movements visitors make, so you can see what people leave behind?

Apple Laserwriter 12/640 PS driver is for PC yes - in the studio I’m on a mac and I use “save PDF as Postscript” from the print dialog box.
