In our second installment of three print ADs for Motorola in Wired magazine, we were given the challenge of creating a generative illustration for the Motorola RIZR phone. The brief given to us was to illustrate content “rising” up - out of the RIZR. The brief also stated it should emphasize the RIZR’s key feature… it’s camera. So we worked in some human elements into the illustration, which would represent photos you might have taken with your phone.
Joshua loves to hide things in his illustrations… a few things to look for :
1. the young girl in the middle is Joshua’s daughter, Kelly.
2. you’ll find the letter “k”, for kelly, right next to her head.
3. the number “4″ next to her head is also how old she was at the time of this job.
4. the letter “z” found a few times in the work makes reference to Motorola’s internal code name for the phone.
